INTRODUCTION

  • DetecTape can be used on hydrogen pipelines and othercylindrical objects where a tape can be wrapped arounditself.
  • Application examples include but are not limited toconnections, fittings, valves, welded seams, joints, flanges,and areas susceptible to vibration damage.

Surface preparation recommendations Wipe area clean of debris or fluids
Application instructions Step1 Pull tape strip from roll up to perforation point
Step2 Tear away tape strip from roll at perforation point and remove liner backing
Step3 Press tape strip firmly approximately 1 inch(2.5 cm) away from the intended detectionpoint and begin the first wrap with one100% complete overlap.

TIP: Tightly stretching the tape aroundirregular contours can provide a cleanerpresentation.
Step4 Continue stretching the tape strip whilewrapping with a 50% overlap across desiredarea until approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm)past the intended detection point.
Step5 Finish the wrap by ending the remainingtape strip with a 100% complete finaloverlap. Press on wrap firmly.
Storage/Handling/Shelf life Storage Store in a cool and dry area, away fromdirect sunlight at a recommendedtemperature of 65°F (18°C)
Handling Keep tape roll clean and free of dust, dirtor debris using the provided container.
Shelf life Adhere to “"Use By”" date on tape roll.
